Our staff is committed to delivering excellent care in a comfortable setting. The receptionists, billing staff and technical personnel are highly trained, qualified professionals. Staff members regularly participate in continuing education classes to further enhance their skills.
Suzanne (Murray) Gillette, C.O.A, Practice Manager
Sue has been with Coastal Eye Care, P.A. since its inception in 1994. She served the role of ophthalmic assistant and ultimately became certified by JCAHPO in 1995. Since then, Sue has expanded her clinical knowledge in ophthalmology during her tenure at Coastal Eye Care through continuous study and attending continuing education at nationally recognized meetings at least one week and sometimes two weeks per year. As her knowledge base increased, her role expanded both clinically and operationally at CEC, ultimately taking the position of Practice Manager. She is recognized by nearly all long-term patients at CEC and has been responsible for expanding the mission of the practice in the quest for continuous and never-ending improvement in the delivery of ongoing eye care.
CLINICAL STAFF – All technicians at Coastal Eye Care have received certification from JCAHPO as Certified Ophthalmic Assistants. They are highly skilled and professionally assist the doctors in patient care; performing technical work-ups and patient interviews prior to the doctors exam, returning patient phone calls, assisting in minor surgery, educating patients about their eyes and much more to help the clinic run smoothly and deliver the best possible care to our patients.
Lindley Gray, C.O.A., Ophthalmic Technician
Lindley joined Coastal Eye Care, P.A. in 2000 and has excelled quickly and expertly becoming certified as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant at the completion of her first year of employment at CEC.
Susan Summers, C.O.A., Ophthalmic Technician
Sue joined Coastal Eye Care, P.A. in 2002 with a strong background in Ophthalmology. She has been in the field as a technician for 14 years.
Andrea Hasting, C.O.A., Ophthalmic Technician
Andrea also joined Coastal Eye Care, P.A. in 2002. She started out on the front desk and quickly moved into the position of technician and became certified as an Ophthalmic Assistant in 2004.
Melodie Haskell, Surgical Coordinator
Melodie handles all aspects of surgical coordinating between the hospitals, the patient and Coastal Eye Care. She enjoys helping patients understand their scheduled cataract surgery and assisting them through the necessary steps for a successful outcome. Being involved in the process of restoring patients’ vision is a rewarding aspect of her job.
Jennifer Grover, Front Desk / Receptionist
Jenn’s happy, cheerful demeanor has been a welcome addition to the front desk at Coastal Eye Care. She is there at checkout to schedule follow-up appointments and assist with other patient needs.
Dolora Conley, Front Desk / Receptionist
In her friendly manner, Dolora efficiently checks patients in at their arrival, assuring all documents and insurance information are in order.
Kelly Kohute, Billing Department
Kelly has been employed at Coastal Eye Care, P.A. since 1996, starting first as a patient receptionist and ultimately moving to the billing office. She has several years experience in insurance and patient billing and has become a valued resource to CEC. She has an excellent work ethic and is the individual that patients can rely on most to answer their billing questions and seek assistance in processing their insurance forms.
Collene Torres, Billing Department
Collene, having been on staff with Coastal Eye Care for one year, will complete her master's degree in business at Husson College in August 2007. Originally from Southern California and a graduate of Wellesley College, Collene worked recently as an accountant with Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems, and for seven years in non-profit management.
Dee Johnston, Insurance Verification
Dee has recently joined the Coastal Eye Care team. Her responsibility is, in part, helping patients to understand their insurance benefits and coverage.
